Haifa Port Grain Silo Competition, Chyutin Architects in collaboration with Jacques Dahan Architect and Ifat Finkelman Architect
The proposal aims to replace the iconic Dagon silo with a design that integrates industrial and public functions. It retains the raw metallic silos with a transparent crown, while adding a rooftop botanical garden, observation terrace, and visitor center. The design also includes scattered grain gardens, exhibition/gathering spaces, and a perimeter promenade offering panoramic mountain and sea views. The transparent silo headers will serve as urban lighting and a maritime beacon, showcasing the industrial processes while enhancing community engagement and quality of life. The goal is to establish a new paradigm for industrial buildings within the city, balancing operational and public needs.
